{baby girl bump}

Today I am 22 weeks.
That means 18 weeks to go.
And 2 weeks away from being 6 months pregnant.

I am not spending as much time in my bed.
I don't sleep until noon anymore.
If I can, I do love an afternoon nap before I go into work.
But I think the sunshine is giving me more energy  =)

Baby weighs a whole pound by now,
maybe even a few ounces more.

She is about 8 to 10 inches long,
approximately the length of a banana.

I am trying to stick my belly out as much as I can these days,
because otherwise
I just look like I am overeating.
I can't wait for people to actually notice I am pregnant.
Although most people that know I am pregnant tell me I am lucky.

My doctor told me by next appointment I should start to really get a
cantalope-shaped belly.
Woo hoo!

{Around our House}

We did some spring cleaning for our company.
And as I cleaned the house I noticed how Beachy our place is.

Although we live 5 hours away from an ocean.

I think it is my California roots coming through our home decor.

Our kitchen and bathroom colors are very similar.
Antique white and duck egg blue.
Or cream and turquoise.

We were so blessed with all of our gifts from our wedding.

I found all of our bathroom decor from Cracker Barrel.
Believe it or not they have the cutest stuff.

I just LOVE the beach.
I LOVE beachy decor.

Here are my newest additions.

The Happy Spring sign came from my mom.
And the welcome sign is perfect for our keys and dog leashes.

Last but not least this sea shell mail box.
I just LOVE it!

Hoping this summer we will spend some time at some East coast beaches.
I sure did love South Carolina!

{Oh how I LOVE spring!}

For the past week or two we have had BEAUTIFUL spring weather.
John David loves spring because he says his "real" wife comes back to life.
Cold weather and Leesha just don't go together well.
I am a sunshine kind of girl.

Beautiful blooming flowers:
while driving in Roanoke you see
daffodils in the medians
cherry blossom trees
and of course...
pansies
at every grocery store.

So...what did I buy?

One yellow pot filled with colorful, springy pansies for the front door...

And one yellow pot filled with colorful, springy pansies for the porch...

And of course these cute blue chairs for $6.
I thought they were perfect for enjoying a little sandwich in the sun.

We enjoyed them last Saturday, but this weekend was another story.
Highs in the 30's and snow Saturday night and Sunday night.
This cold weather is not making me happy.
I guess we only got a sneak peak of spring.

Hopefully it will come back soon!!

{We are having a GIRL!!}

On March 20, 2011 at 9am
the Lord took my Great Grandma home to heaven.

On March 21, 2011 at 9am
the Lord blessed my mom with the gift of being a Grandma
 to a grandaughter.

She was a strong woman of faith, a giver, a servant.
Loyal, tender hearted, full of wisdom.
I am thankful for the peace God has blessed me with.
I know she is in heaven enjoying her new healthy body, jeweled crowns, and mansion.

We celebrated our news knowing she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Six people in the room for THE ULTRA SOUND.
=)

And it didn't take the nurse long to see what the baby was...
just a few quick snapshots.
The feet and the hand shots were two of my favorite!!

Then she smiled and said
"Do you want me to tell you what you are having?"
With excitement we all said yes!

IT'S a GIRL!!!

So thankful for a healthy 14 ounce baby girl!
Still not showing much.
No weird cravings, just always hungry.
And I have gained 8 pounds.
Our doctor said all of tests have come back great
and baby and mommy are healthy.
21 weeks 1 day
18 weeks 6 days to go!!

{20 weeks = HALFWAY THERE!!!}

Today my journal tells me that the baby is
 about the size of a
 mango,
6.5 inches long from head to rump
and weighs about 10 ounces.

By today, our baby's head hair is visible and the eyebrows are beginning to show.
I like this part...
No matter how dark his/her hair will become
right now it is unpigmented which means it is white.

Our baby may be awaken from sleep by external sounds or movements:
sudden loud noises,
loud music,
even the vibration and movement of a car
can stir the baby into activity.

Today I am going to celebrate the halfway  point.
I am thankful for my health.
I am thankful I am feeling great.
I am thankful for a supportive family.
I am thankful for a husband that is so good to me.
I am thankful for this little gift growing inside of me.

{14 hour drive each way = WELL worth it}

Our trip to Arkansas was everything I needed:

We got to spend some time with our friends...

...spend lots of time with family...

...bond with this little guy...
(notice the matching faces and outfits)

...he was a sweetheart...

...spend the day with Dad...
watching some Razorback baseball...

...play with Hadley for a day...

visit with Claire...eating, shopping, registering...

I cannot even tell you how much every day of that visit
felt like the cherry on top of this delicious sundae.

That trip was much needed and appreciated...
Thank you to all of you who made it so special!

I am praying for God's will
and hoping His will
is for us to
be back
with the ones we love!
